9-Year-Old Girl Dies of Cardiac Arrest at Lucknow School
A 9-year-old student, Manvi Singh, from Montfort Inter College in Lucknow, tragically passed away on Friday due to cardiac arrest. The Class 3 student felt dizzy and collapsed while playing outside her classroom. School principal Brother Jinu Abraham reported the incident, describing her as a bright student.
Immediate Medical Response
After Manvi collapsed in the corridor, the school immediately rushed her to Fatima Hospital. However, her family later moved her to Chandan Hospital, where doctors confirmed that she had suffered a fatal cardiac arrest.

Family Declines Investigation
Manvi’s family, who reside in Lucknow’s Vikasnagar area, informed authorities that she had been unwell for several years. Due to her ongoing medical treatment, they declined to pursue any legal investigation, believing the incident was related to her health condition. According to SHO Mahanagar Akhilesh Mishra, the family saw no need for further inquiry.
School Response
Following Manvi’s passing, the school declared a holiday on Friday as a mark of respect. The principal expressed deep sorrow over the incident, noting it as the second sudden death of a student in the past year.
Similar Incident Last Year
In a similar case, a Class 9 student from City Montessori School in Lucknow also died from a suspected cardiac arrest during class in September of last year. Despite prompt medical attention, the student, Atif Siddiqui, could not be saved.
