Passport Seva Portal Temporarily Unavailable for Maintenance
The Passport Seva portal, used for booking passport appointments across India, will be shut down for five days for scheduled maintenance. The government announced that no new appointments can be made during this period, and existing appointments will be rescheduled.
Maintenance Schedule and Impact on Services
The portal will be unavailable from 8:00 PM IST on August 29, 2024, until 6:00 AM IST on September 2, 2024. During this time, the system will be inaccessible to citizens as well as various government authorities, including the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Regional Passport Offices (RPOs), and police verification units. Any appointments booked for August 30 will be rescheduled, and applicants will be informed accordingly.
