Indian-Origin Man Investigated for Lebanon Blasts
Authorities are investigating Rinson Jose, a former Indian emigrant to Norway, in connection with recent pager blasts in Lebanon. These attacks targeted Hezbollah operatives, resulting in 12 deaths and injuring thousands. Jose, originally from Kerala, is now a Norwegian citizen and owns a consulting company in Bulgaria.
Pager Blast Investigation Unfolds
Initial investigations suggest that the pagers used in the attack were modified to contain explosives. Gold Apollo, a Taiwan-based company, originally manufactured the devices. However, they later clarified that a Hungarian firm, BAC Consulting KFT, made and sold the specific pager model used in the blast.

Company Under Scrutiny
Two days after the explosions, Bulgarian security agency DANS revealed it was investigating a company linked to the incident. Norta Global Ltd, owned by Jose and registered in Sofia in 2022, emerged as the firm under examination. However, Bulgarian authorities later stated that the pagers were not manufactured, imported, or exported from the country.
Norwegian Police Involved
As the investigation continues, authorities in Oslo have launched their own inquiry into the matter. Norwegian police are reviewing the new evidence that links Jose to the blasts.
Family Believes in Jose’s Innocence
Jose’s family members have expressed disbelief over his alleged involvement. Relatives shared that he moved to Norway for higher education and later worked for DN Media in digital customer support. His family last spoke with him three days ago, and they have been unable to contact him or his wife since the incident.
Norta Global’s Financial Success
Despite the current allegations, Norta Global Ltd, founded by Jose, reported significant earnings last year. The company generated $725,000 (approximately ₹6 crore) from consulting activities outside the European Union.
Authorities are continuing to investigate, and more details are expected to emerge as the inquiry unfolds.
