Bilateral Talks with Mongolia

Jaishankar expressed his optimism for strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new areas of collaboration.
Reception by Pakistan’s Officials
Jaishankar received a warm welcome upon his arrival at Rawalpindi airport. Ilyas Mehmood Nizami, Director General (South Asia) of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, greeted him at Nur Khan Airbase. Children dressed in traditional attire presented him with flower bouquets, adding a festive touch to his arrival.
Dinner with Pakistan’s Prime Minister
Jaishankar also attended a dinner reception hosted by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The two exchanged greetings, shook hands, and shared a few pleasantries, reflecting a cordial atmosphere during the event.
Focus on Trade and Economic Cooperation
The primary focus of Jaishankar’s visit was the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. He led the Indian delegation at the 23rd meeting, where discussions centered around trade and economic collaboration within the region. The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that the meetings focused on advancing the SCO’s economic agenda.
