PM Modi’s Strategic Engagements at the G20 Summit in Brazil
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. He emphasized that their talks were centered on bolstering defence, security, trade, and technological ties. Modi highlighted the potential of India-Italy relations to positively impact the world.
He tweeted, “Delighted to meet PM Giorgia Meloni at the G20 in Rio. We discussed enhancing our collaboration in defence, security, trade, and tech. We also talked about expanding cultural and educational exchanges. The friendship between India and Italy holds great promise for global betterment.”
Additionally, Modi had a bilateral session with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store at the same event. Prior to this, he conversed with leaders from Indonesia and Portugal, focusing on commerce and defence enhancements.
Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, took to X to announce, “PM Modi met President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia. He congratulated the President and committed to broaden the India-Indonesia partnership across existing and new domains.”
Moreover, Modi also held discussions with Spanish President Pedro Sanchez, aiming to foster international relations through these strategic meetings.
