The post featured an adorable picture of baby Haksh dressed in a miniature Indian cricket team jersey, holding his parents’ hands. Axar wrote, “He’s still figuring out the off side from the leg, but we couldn’t wait to introduce him to all of you in blue. World, welcome Haksh Patel, India’s smallest, yet biggest fan, and the most special piece of our hearts.”
Personal Commitments Keep Axar Out of Squad
Axar’s absence from the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy had sparked speculation. Addressing the matter, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma clarified during a press conference that Axar was unavailable due to personal commitments following the birth of his son.
Rohit also mentioned that Axar’s performance in overseas conditions was a factor in the selectors’ decision. While Axar remains a key player in India’s spin department, his strength lies in home conditions.

With Axar unavailable and Kuldeep Yadav recovering from hernia surgery, the selectors opted for Mumbai off-spinning all-rounder Tanush Kotian as a replacement for Ravichandran Ashwin.
