Concerns Over Election Integrity
Meanwhile, concerns over election funding have emerged. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena directed the Delhi Police Commissioner to monitor private vehicles entering from Punjab. This move follows allegations by Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit, who claimed cash was being transported to Delhi to influence voters.
Dikshit urged Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan authorities to stay vigilant. The Delhi LG echoed these concerns, noting that illegal money could jeopardize free and fair elections. The use of money power in elections violates the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Representation of People Act, 1951.
Looking Ahead
As Delhi gears up for the 2025 Vidhan Sabha elections, political parties are mobilizing their resources. The NCP’s announcement highlights its strategic planning, while authorities work to ensure electoral integrity.
