BJP and AAP Face Off in Poster Campaigns
With the Delhi assembly elections nearing, the BJP and AAP have launched intense poster war. Both parties aim to sway public opinion.
BJP’s Allegations
The BJP accused AAP of voter fraud. They shared a poster targeting Arvind Kejriwal, claiming fake voter entries at a single address. According to the BJP, these entries ranged from ages 40 to 80. The party called this “Kejriwal’s new game to rig votes.”
AAP’s Response
AAP fired back with a video poster labeling Kejriwal as the “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time). Kejriwal accused the BJP of hypocrisy. He alleged that while BJP opposes honorariums for religious leaders, it orders temple demolitions.
Temple Demolition Allegations
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi expanded on Kejriwal’s claims. She said the BJP-led central government empowered the Lieutenant Governor (LG) to order temple demolitions without consulting the Delhi government.
Atishi pointed out that the Religious Committee approved demolitions in areas like West Patel Nagar, Dilshad Garden, Sultanpuri, and Sundar Nagari. She accused BJP of having a “dual face,” claiming they destroy temples while pretending to protect Hinduism.
BJP’s Counterattack
BJP leaders dismissed AAP’s allegations. MP Sudhanshu Trivedi accused AAP of neglecting critical issues like water supply, women’s safety, pollution, and slum rehabilitation. He said, “Instead of solving real problems, Kejriwal’s government has done nothing.”
MP Praveen Khandelwal called AAP’s recent announcements, like honorariums for priests, mere election stunts. “Delhi’s treasury is empty. Kejriwal makes announcements just for votes,” Khandelwal added.
The Road Ahead
As the elections approach, the battle between BJP and AAP intensifies. Both parties are leaving no stone unturned to win public support. The people of Delhi will ultimately decide who they believe.
