Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Aramghar-Nehru Zoological Park flyover on Monday. He named it after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away recently.
The flyover spans four kilometers with six lanes. It connects Aramghar to the Nehru Zoological Park. Built at a cost of Rs 800 crore, it aims to reduce traffic on the busy Hyderabad-Bangalore highway.
Revanth Reddy recalled that Hyderabad’s longest flyover, the P.V. Narasimha Rao Expressway, was built during former CM Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy’s tenure. He said the new flyover, completed in record time, shows the Congress government’s focus on urban development under Mission Hyderabad Rising.
The Chief Minister said the Congress government has been solving Hyderabad’s problems since it came to power. He highlighted projects like the Metro expansion and Musi rejuvenation. These initiatives aim to boost development and ensure long-term sustainability for the city.
Revanth Reddy also shared plans for a Vision 2050 project. The government will ensure Hyderabad has a sustainable water supply for decades. He noted that the Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs, built during the Nizam era, addressed the city’s water needs. Now, his government will build on that legacy.
The CM announced new projects, including a cable bridge over Mir Alam Tank. He said the bridge would become a major tourist attraction. He added that once the Regional Ring Road is completed, Telangana will see even more development.
Revanth Reddy also emphasized cooperation with all parties, including AIMIM. He said politics should be kept aside after elections to focus on Hyderabad’s growth. AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi was present at the event.
He promised funds for various projects. However, he made it clear that public representatives must ensure timely completion. He also announced plans to lay the foundation for a new Osmania Hospital building soon.
The Chief Minister stressed that Hyderabad’s development must be a people’s movement, calling for everyone to work together for the city’s future.
