AAP’s Mohinder Goyal Summoned Again by Delhi Police in Fake Aadhaar Case
Delhi Police issued a fresh notice to AAP MLA Mohinder Goyal on Sunday. The case involves fake Aadhaar cards allegedly made for Bangladeshi nationals, according to ANI.
This notice follows a previous one sent a day earlier. The police had asked Goyal to join the investigation.
However, Goyal denied receiving any notice. He called the allegations politically motivated.
“They say I helped Bangladeshis get Aadhaar cards. That’s completely false. I have never done anything wrong,” Goyal told ANI. He stressed that his party doesn’t support any illegal activities.
Police Summon Goyal’s Staff
The police have also summoned Goyal’s staff for questioning. The investigation aims to uncover how fake Aadhaar cards were issued.
BJP Accuses AAP
The BJP criticized the AAP over the issue. They accused the party of adding Bangladeshi infiltrators to Delhi’s voter list using fake IDs.
The issue has sparked a political row ahead of the February 5 assembly election. The AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, is seeking a fourth term in Delhi.
The BJP claims that AAP is trying to win elections by increasing votes from illegal immigrants. They have repeatedly targeted the ruling party over this issue.
Delhi Election Battle Heats Up
The election is set to witness a three-way contest between the AAP, BJP, and Congress.
The AAP swept the last two elections, winning 67 seats in 2015 and 62 seats in 2020. The BJP managed to secure second place, while the Congress failed to win any seats.
The counting of votes will take place on February 8. Political tensions continue to rise in the national capital as the parties gear up for the polls.
