Congress Leader Olencio Simoes Booked for Stalking and Threats
Olencio Simoes, General Secretary of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, has been accused of stalking and threatening a woman in Margao. The incident allegedly occurred on January 7, as per police reports.
Woman Alleges Harassment
The complainant claims that Simoes attempted to befriend her despite her clear disinterest. She further alleged that he blocked her vehicle with his car and threatened her with serious consequences.
FIR Registered
Police have filed an FIR against Simoes under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 126 (wrongful restraint), 78 (stalking), and 351 (criminal intimidation).
Role in National Fishworkers Forum
Apart from his political role, Simoes also serves as General Secretary of the National Fishworkers Forum, an organization advocating for traditional fishermen’s rights across India.
