BJP Promises Free Education and Welfare in Second Manifesto
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched its second manifesto for the Delhi Elections 2025 on Tuesday. The party pledged free education “from KG to PG” for underprivileged students in government institutions.
Union Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda emphasized the party’s focus on public welfare. He stated that if BJP comes to power, all existing welfare schemes will continue and become more efficient by eliminating corruption.
Key Promises in the Second Manifesto
- Education for All: Free education for needy students from kindergarten to postgraduate levels in government schools and colleges.
- Aid for Youth: A one-time financial support of ₹15,000 for competitive exam preparation and reimbursement for two application and travel fees.
- Women-Centric Schemes: Monthly aid of ₹2,500 under the ‘Mahila Samridhi Yojana.’ Additionally, pregnant women will receive ₹21,000 and six nutrition kits under the ‘Chief Minister Matritva Suraksha Yojana.’
- Affordable LPG: Subsidized LPG cylinders at ₹500 for economically weaker sections, with one free cylinder on Holi and Diwali.
- Health Initiatives: Implementation of Ayushman Bharat in the first Cabinet meeting, offering ₹5 lakh additional health cover.
- Senior Citizen Pension: Increased pension for those aged 60-70 from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 and for those above 70 from ₹2,500 to ₹3,000.
Highlights of the First Manifesto
Last week, BJP released its first manifesto, focusing on women’s welfare. It promised ₹2,500 monthly aid, affordable LPG, and pensions for senior citizens. BJP MP Anurag Thakur explained that these measures aim to rival AAP’s welfare-driven governance model.
Aiming for a Better Delhi
JP Nadda reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to a corruption-free, welfare-oriented governance model. “Our Sankalp Patra lays the foundation for a developed Delhi,” he said.
The Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 5, and the results will be declared on February 8. BJP is striving to end AAP’s decade-long dominance while competing against Congress in a triangular contest.
