AAP Condemns EC Raid on Delhi Residence of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders strongly opposed the Election Commission’s raid on Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s Delhi home on Thursday. They called it an act of political revenge.
Mann Alleges Political Targeting
CM Bhagwant Mann revealed the raid in a social media post. He accused the BJP of distributing cash in Delhi while the EC and Delhi Police ignored it. He claimed the authorities were defaming Punjabis at the BJP’s behest.
AAP Leaders React
AAP’s Punjab president Aman Arora alleged that BJP fears losing Delhi elections and is creating tension. He claimed BJP leader Pravesh Verma was distributing money, but the EC took no action. Arora stated that previous raids on AAP leaders found nothing, calling the latest raid BJP’s vendetta against Punjab.
AAP Ministers Criticize EC
Punjab’s finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema condemned the raid. He called it dirty politics and said the EC should first act against BJP leaders openly bribing voters.
