Just two days after being granted bail and walking free, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a surprising announcement at a party meeting. He revealed his decision to step down from the top post, declaring that he would only return as CM after receiving a fresh mandate from the people.
Kejriwal’s Statement
“I will resign as Chief Minister in two days. I cannot sit in that chair until the people give their verdict. Delhi’s elections are months away, but I have received justice from the legal court. Now, I seek justice from the people’s court,” Kejriwal stated during the meeting. He emphasized that he would sit in the CM’s chair again only if the people supported him.
