Kejriwal Calls Modi’s Delhi Projects Joint Efforts, Highlights AAP’s Role
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday welcomed the inauguration of two major infrastructure projects by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He called them significant milestones for the city and emphasized that both projects were joint efforts by the central and city governments.
PM Modi Inaugurates Key Infrastructure Projects
PM Modi inaugurated a 13-kilometre stretch of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor and the Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension section of Delhi Metro’s Phase IV. The RRTS stretch connects Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad to New Ashok Nagar in Delhi.
During a press conference, Kejriwal congratulated Delhi residents on the new projects. “These projects are the result of collaboration between the city and central governments,” he said.
“AAP Focuses on Development, Not Fights”
Taking a swipe at critics, Kejriwal said the inaugurations were a clear response to those accusing AAP of only engaging in confrontations.
“Over the past 10 years, we have shown that we prioritize work over everything else. Despite our leaders being jailed and tortured, we stayed focused on governance,” he asserted.
He pointed out that these projects reflect AAP’s development-centric approach, even amid political challenges.
Criticism of PM Modi’s Speech
Kejriwal also took aim at PM Modi’s speech during the inauguration.
“Today, the prime minister spent most of his time criticizing the people of Delhi and its elected government. I listened to his speech, and it felt bad,” Kejriwal said.
He reminded the prime minister of a promise made in 2020 to the residents of Delhi’s rural areas. “The people of Delhi Dehat are still waiting for that promise to be fulfilled,” he added.
AAP’s Focus on Delhi’s Growth
With Delhi Assembly elections approaching, Kejriwal stressed AAP’s commitment to development.
“Our focus remains on building a better Delhi, no matter the hurdles. We urge the central government to fulfil its promises made in the BJP’s manifesto,” he said.
Kejriwal’s remarks reflect AAP’s strategy to highlight its governance record while continuing its tussle with the Centre ahead of the crucial Delhi polls.
