BJP to Launch Registration for Rs 2,500 Mahila Samriddhi Yojana in Delhi
The BJP government in Delhi will start the registration process for its Rs 2,500 monthly aid scheme for women from economically weaker sections on March 8, 2025, according to party MP Manoj Tiwari.
The initiative, promised under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana in BJP’s Delhi Assembly election manifesto, aims to provide financial support to underprivileged women.
Speaking on the sidelines of an event, Manoj Tiwari said, “We are beginning registrations for our promise of providing Rs 2,500 to poor women in Delhi from March 8. A list of beneficiaries will be prepared, and the entire process will be completed within one and a half months.”
He urged eligible women to register for the scheme at the earliest.
AAP Criticizes BJP Over Delay
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has criticized the BJP government for not approving the scheme in its first Cabinet meeting, as promised by the Prime Minister.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta responded by blaming the previous AAP government for leaving behind an empty treasury, but assured that all promises made by the BJP would be fulfilled.
AAP chief spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar reminded the BJP of its commitments, stating, “Before the elections, BJP promised that every woman in Delhi would receive Rs 2,500 by March 8. They also assured LPG cylinders at Rs 500 and a free cylinder on Holi and Diwali. CM Rekha Gupta should start working on these promises.”
BJP Assures Fulfillment of Promises
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva dismissed AAP’s criticism, calling it an attempt by AAP leaders to remain relevant after their defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections.
He asserted that the BJP is committed to delivering all promises made in its manifesto.
With registration starting soon, all eyes will be on how swiftly the government implements the scheme.
