
Five Killed in IED Blast in Khuzdar, Security Forces Foil Another Attack
A remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) blast rocked Khuzdar district in Balochistan, Pakistan, on Wednesday. The explosion, triggered by a device attached to a motorcycle, killed five people and injured five others.
Explosion at Naal Market
The blast occurred at Naal Market, causing panic among residents. Authorities immediately rushed the injured to the hospital. Two of them remain in critical condition. The bodies of the deceased have been placed in the morgue.
Security Forces Respond
A bomb disposal squad arrived at the scene to inspect the site. The blast took place near a college, damaging nearby vehicles. Security forces launched an investigation to track down those responsible.
Terror Attack Foiled in Pishin
In a separate operation, security forces in Balochistan’s Pishin district foiled another terror plot. Acting on intelligence, they arrested four terrorists planning an attack. Officials believe their timely intervention prevented further loss of life.
Government’s Strong Response
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack and directed authorities to provide the injured with the best medical care. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism.
Rising Violence in Balochistan
Balochistan has faced persistent violence for over two decades. In January, a car bomb explosion near a passenger bus killed two people and injured seven others. Reports indicate Pakistan saw 79 terror attacks last month alone, resulting in significant civilian and security personnel casualties.
