Delhi Salons and Businesses Offer Discounts to Voters
With the Delhi Assembly elections just a day away, the Chamber of Trades and Industries (CTI) has launched an initiative to boost voter turnout. Salons and beauty parlors across the city will offer discounts ranging from 20% to 50% to those who cast their vote.
Apart from salons, various businesses, including shops, restaurants, hotels, malls, coffee shops, and dhabas, will also provide discounts between 10% and 50% to voters.
On Tuesday, CTI announced that nearly 500 salons and beauty parlors will participate in this offer on February 6, the day after polling.
CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal stated that the initiative aims to increase voter participation. “We want more people to vote on February 5. A higher turnout strengthens democracy,” he said.
Over 500 salon owners and makeup artists associated with CTI have joined the initiative. Voters who show the ink mark on their finger can avail of discounts on beauty services such as facials, shaves, haircuts, massages, and de-tan treatments. The offer applies to both men and women.
Delhi will vote for its 70-member Assembly on February 5, with the results set to be announced on February 8.
