Economist and chairman of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Economic Advisory Council, Bibek Debroy, passed away today at 69. Known for his significant contributions to Indian economic policy, Mr. Debroy was also a Padma Shri awardee. His illustrious career included serving as the chancellor of Pune’s Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE), where he influenced a generation of economists and policy thinkers.
