Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan share a friendship that spans more than three decades. The duo has worked on numerous blockbuster songs and films, but the celebrated choreographer-director admits that collaborating with SRK has become more challenging with time.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Farah reflected on her friendships in Bollywood, including her bond with Shah Rukh, which dates back to his early films like Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Deewana.
Farah expressed deep gratitude for their enduring friendship but confessed that working with the superstar today comes with its own set of pressures.
“If it was hard working with him then, it is harder now,” she revealed. “Every time we work on a song, the pressure doubles because we have created such iconic songs together.”
Their last collaboration was the 2014 film Happy New Year, which Farah directed and SRK headlined.
Farah also spoke about stepping away from direction after Happy New Year. “I wanted to take a break because I couldn’t find anything exciting,” she said, adding that she is eager to return to direction, but only when the right project comes along.
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan is currently working on his upcoming film King, which will mark his daughter Suhana Khan’s Bollywood debut alongside Abhishek Bachchan. Initially reported to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film will now be helmed by Siddharth Anand, according to the latest reports.
Farah’s bond with Shah Rukh has stood the test of time, both personally and professionally, and fans eagerly await another iconic collaboration between the two.
