Chandigarh, July 31:
Shri Gulab Chand Kataria was sworn in as the 37th Governor of Punjab on Wednesday in a solemn ceremony at Punjab Raj Bhavan. The oath of office was administered by the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sheel Nagu. Present at the ceremony were Governor of Haryana, Bandaru Dattatreya, and Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Shri Gulab Chand Kataria took the oath in Hindi and signed the oath form, which was countersigned by the Chief Justice. Following this, he signed separate charge reports, assuming the responsibilities as Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory, Chandigarh.
Before the swearing-in, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria arrived at the Guru Nanak Dev Auditorium of Punjab Raj Bhavan in a ceremonial procession, accompanied by the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The Chief Secretary of Punjab, Mr. Anurag Verma, formally commenced the ceremony and read out the warrants of appointment appointing Gulab Chand Kataria as the Governor of Punjab.
