Indian Army Foils Infiltration Attempt in J&K
Operation Kanchi Targets Terrorists
The Indian Army neutralized two terrorists and recovered a significant cache of arms in Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir, during an anti-infiltration operation on the nights of September 8 and 9. The operation, named “Operation Kanchi,” was carried out based on intelligence inputs about a potential infiltration attempt. The White Knight Corps led the search in the Lam area of Nowshera.
Weapons Recovered
The operation resulted in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and a pistol. The White Knight Corps shared details on social media, stating, “Based on intelligence and Jammu-Kashmir Police inputs regarding a likely infiltration bid, an anti-infiltration operation was conducted on the night of 08-09 Sep 24 in Lam, Nowshera. Two terrorists were neutralized, and a large quantity of warlike stores was recovered.” The operation is ongoing.

Previous Success in August
This operation follows the successful neutralization of three terrorists on August 29. The Indian Army, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and Border Security Force (BSF), thwarted an infiltration attempt across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machhal and Tangdhar sectors. The ambush teams, based on credible intelligence, engaged in a firefight, eliminating two terrorists in the Machhal sector and one in the Tangdhar sector.

With legislative assembly elections approaching in Jammu and Kashmir, security measures have been heightened in the Rajouri region to ensure a safe and secure environment for voters.
