30th September 2024, New Delhi : The Department of Social Work at Jamia Millia Islamia held a Swachhta Pledge Programme to promote cleanliness and environmental responsibility. Prof. Neelam Sukhramani, Head of the Department, along with the entire faculty, led the event.
Students from various courses, including M.A. in Social Work (MSW), Human Resource Management (HRM), Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), and Advanced Diploma in Public Health (ADPH), actively participated. They pledged to keep their surroundings clean and inspire others to help create cleaner public spaces.

The pledge was administered in both English and Hindi for greater inclusivity. This event showcased the department’s dedication to fostering social responsibility and sustainability among future social work professionals.
At the event’s close, Prof. Sukhramani stressed the importance of cleanliness. She urged everyone to take responsibility for maintaining a clean environment and emphasized the role each person plays in building a healthier, sustainable future.
