Kunal Kamra Accepts Ola CEO’s Offer with Conditions for Scooter Service Fixes
Weeks after a public feud over Ola’s electric scooter service quality, comedian Kunal Kamra accepted Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal’s job offer, but with conditions. Posting on X, Kamra said he feels “like an Ola employee” due to constant tagging on service complaints. Kamra’s and Aggarwal’s exchange initially sparked when Kamra posted an image of numerous EV scooters at an Ola service center, questioning customer rights and service quality for daily wage earners reliant on these scooters. In response, Aggarwal called Kamra’s post a “paid tweet” and challenged him to join Ola to help resolve service issues.
Kamra’s Terms for Ola
Kamra proposed action points for the collaboration, demanding Ola repair scooters within seven business days at authorized centers. If repairs exceed this timeline, Ola should provide either a temporary scooter or daily compensation of ₹500 until the repair is done. Additionally, he suggested customers earn ₹500 per delayed day, up to ₹50,000. Kamra also insisted Ola Electric should offer free service insurance on every new scooter.
Aggarwal has not yet responded to Kamra’s conditions.
Kamra Appeals to Nitin Gadkari
Kamra also addressed Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, urging him to support affected Indian customers. He shared a user’s complaint about Ola scooters in poor condition at a Maharashtra service center with unqualified technicians on site. Kamra emphasized that many customers cannot reach work and are taking high-interest loans to address issues Ola should resolve.
Last week, Ola Electric’s CFO, Harish Abhichandani, stated that 99% of customer complaints had been fully resolved, according to Ola’s customer service protocol.
