Wayanad Landslide Crisis
Early on Tuesday, massive landslides struck various hilly areas near Meppadi in Kerala’s Wayanad district, leaving several people feared trapped. The incident has prompted an urgent response from the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA).
Rescue Efforts Underway
KSDMA has deployed Fireforce and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams to the affected areas. An additional NDRF team is on its way to Wayanad to bolster rescue operations. The Kannur Defence Security Corps has also been instructed to assist in the efforts, as confirmed in a Facebook post by KSDMA.
