Ludhiana Police Arrest 22-Year-Old After High-Speed Crash
Sarabha Nagar police arrested a 22-year-old man on Thursday after his speeding car caused a multi-vehicle crash near a shopping complex on Ludhiana-Ferozepur Road.
High-Speed Collision Damages Five Vehicles
The accident occurred at 10:30 PM on Wednesday. A Volkswagen Jetta, traveling from Aggar Nagar towards Jagraon, crashed into a Hyundai i20 parked outside the shopping complex. The impact pushed the Jetta into a Mahindra Thar, which then collided with a Toyota Fortuner.
Police confirmed that five vehicles were damaged in the accident.
Driver Caught and Thrashed by Bystanders
The driver, Divjot Singh, was caught by bystanders. They thrashed him before his family arrived and took him to a hospital. Other passengers suffered minor injuries.
Sarabha Nagar SHO Inspector Neeraj Chaudhary said Divjot blamed the accident on a gear malfunction. He claimed he panicked and pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.
Police Register Case Against Driver
Police confirmed that three men in the Hyundai i20 and a couple in the Mahindra Thar sustained minor injuries.
Authorities booked Divjot Singh for rash driving and causing harm by endangering others’ safety. Investigations are ongoing.
