
Magadh Express Splits in Two Due to Coupling Failure in Bihar, No Injuries Reported
Passengers aboard the Islampur-bound Magadh Express (train number 20802) faced a surprising incident on Sunday morning when the train split into two parts while passing through Bihar’s Buxar district. The coupling between coaches 13 and 14 came apart, causing the train to halt.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:07 a.m. between Twiniganj and Raghunathpur railway stations. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the train was safely moved to Raghunathpur station for repairs.

Official Statement
Saraswati Chandra, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railways, provided a detailed explanation of the incident: “The Magadh Express passed Twiniganj at 11:07 hrs, and the coupling between coach number S-7 (13th from the engine) and S-6 (14th from the engine) came apart at km 635/32 between Twiniganj and Raghunathpur at 11:08 hrs. The SPART unit was called at 11:35 hrs.”
Local Authorities Confirm No Harm
Afak Akhtar Ansari, DSP of Dumraon, reassured the public, stating, “There was no accident. The train split into two parts due to a coupling failure, but it has been safely moved to Raghunathpur station for repairs.”
He further added, “No injuries have been reported, and all passengers are safe. The coupling will be repaired before the train resumes its journey. An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the issue.”
