Efforts to Boost Voter Participation
Authorities launched campaigns featuring celebrities and icons to engage urban and young voters. The Election Commission set up over 1,185 polling stations in residential areas and provided essential facilities, including wheelchairs and waiting benches.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar ensured special attention was given to urban apathy. Despite Maharashtra’s high urban population, previous elections averaged 60-61% turnout. This year, voters broke the trend.
