Background of the Accused
Lokesh, who comes from Najafgarh, had evaded court proceedings in three different cases in Delhi. Despite his criminal background, he managed to work as a driver in the health wing of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), which further complicated his capture.
Police Operation and Arrest
DCP (Crime) Satish Kumar explained that Sub Inspector Kuldeep Singh received reliable information about Lokesh’s movements. The tip-off revealed that Lokesh, affiliated with a notorious gang, planned to meet an unidentified individual in Dharampura, Najafgarh, West Delhi. Acting on this intelligence, a specialized police team set up a trap in the area and successfully captured Lokesh.
Previous Criminal Activities
Lokesh’s criminal record includes serious offenses. In 2018, he and his associate, Joginder alias Lila, were involved in a shooting incident where they opened fire on an individual. Lokesh also sexually assaulted a minor girl over several days, leading authorities to declare him a proclaimed offender.
Conclusion
By arresting Lokesh, Delhi Police have brought a notorious criminal to justice, ending his years of evading law enforcement. This case highlights the importance of persistent investigative efforts by law enforcement agencies in maintaining public safety.
