Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, a dynamic social reformer and the founder of Aligarh Muslim University, is celebrated for his immense contributions to education and social reform in India. His life and work continue to intrigue and engage people of all ages, and his controversial statements on religion and politics often spark lively discussions. To honor his legacy, Dr. M Sayeed Alam of Pierrot’s Troupe, a renowned name in stage plays who has directed numerous productions worldwide, is staging a new play, SIR SYED, on August 11 in Delhi.
SIR SYED is an hour-long Urdu solo play featuring Tahseen Munawar, a renowned Urdu journalist. Directed by Dr. M Sayeed Alam, this performance promises to be a poignant tribute to Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s life and work. The play premiered two years ago in the USA and was performed last year in the UAE, where it received an overwhelmingly positive response for its direction and Tahseen Munawar’s performance.
After two successful, houseful shows abroad, Pierrot’s Troupe is presenting this play in India for the first time.
