PM Shares Personal Connection with Jammu & Kashmir
Modi recalled his long-standing association with the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He shared memories of traveling through the region during his early political days.
“I have spent a lot of time here. Whether it was Sonamarg, Gulmarg, or Baramulla, we walked for hours despite heavy snowfall. But the warmth of the people made us forget the cold,” he said.
Z-Morh Tunnel to Boost Ladakh Connectivity
The Z-Morh tunnel, located on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway, spans 6.5 kilometers. The project cost ₹2,400 crore and aims to ensure year-round connectivity to the Ladakh region.
Construction began in May 2015 and was completed in 2024. The tunnel had a soft opening in February 2024 before its official inauguration.
The tunnel is expected to boost travel, trade, and tourism in the region, making the Ladakh region more accessible even during harsh winters.
