PM Modi Meets Mahayuti MLAs During Mumbai Visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a lunch meeting with Mahayuti government MLAs in Mumbai on Wednesday. The meeting took place at the INS Angre Auditorium, according to PTI.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, his deputies Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and several MLAs attended. The Mahayuti alliance, comprising BJP, NCP, and Shiv Sena, won 230 out of 288 seats in last year’s state polls.
Naval Combatants Commissioned
Earlier in the day, Modi commissioned three naval ships — INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer — at Mumbai’s Naval Dockyard. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar also attended the event.
Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter) about the commissioning. He said it shows India’s commitment to building a self-reliant defense sector.
Modi highlighted the need for more ships as India’s economy grows. He stated that port-led development will drive growth and create jobs in shipping.
He also praised the Navy’s role in saving lives and securing international cargo. According to him, this has increased global trust in India.
ISKCON Temple Inauguration
Later, Modi will visit Navi Mumbai to open a new ISKCON temple in Kharghar. The temple project covers nine acres. It includes a Vedic education center, museums, an auditorium, and a healing center.
The PMO said the project promotes peace, harmony, and universal brotherhood through Vedic teachings.
To manage traffic, Navi Mumbai Police issued route restrictions and parking advisories. Several roads will remain closed for the event to ensure smooth movement.
The ISKCON temple inauguration reflects Modi’s commitment to promoting Indian culture.
