Jan Suraj chief Prashant Kishor made a bold promise ahead of his party’s foundation day on October 2. During an interview with ANI, Kishor vowed to end the liquor ban in Bihar within an hour if elected to power. “We have been preparing for this for two years. If the Jan Suraj government is formed, we will end the liquor ban within one hour,” Kishor stated confidently.
Prashant Kishor on Tejashwi Yadav
When asked about Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav’s ongoing yatra, Kishor responded with well-wishes but also a subtle critique. “At least he has come out of the house and is interacting with the public,” he remarked.

Kishor also addressed the ongoing tension between RJD and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Tejashwi Yadav recently claimed that Nitish Kumar apologized for joining the BJP-led NDA, but Kishor dismissed the feud as irrelevant. “It doesn’t matter who apologized to whom—both have caused damage to Bihar. The people have seen their leadership for 30 years, and we urge them to step aside,” Kishor said.
Sharp Criticism of Tejashwi’s Credentials
Earlier, Kishor took aim at Tejashwi Yadav’s qualifications and leadership abilities during a speech in Bhojpur, Bihar. He criticized Yadav’s lack of education despite his privileged background. “If someone couldn’t get educated due to lack of resources, it’s understandable. But if someone’s parents were Chief Ministers and he still couldn’t pass 10th grade, it shows his approach to education,” Kishor remarked.
Highlighting the irony, Kishor said, “A 9th-grade dropout is now claiming to lead Bihar’s development. He doesn’t know the difference between GDP and GDP growth, yet he’s proposing how to improve Bihar.” Kishor questioned Yadav’s credentials, saying his leadership is based solely on being the son of Lalu Yadav and his family ties in RJD. He urged Tejashwi to prove his capabilities through action rather than rely on his lineage.
