Punjab Launches Online Portal for Ashirwad Scheme
The Punjab government has introduced an online portal for the Ashirwad Scheme. This move aligns with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision of offering seamless digital services. The portal simplifies the application process, making it transparent and hassle-free. Now, eligible families can apply for financial aid from their homes.
Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized the government’s dedication to digital transformation. The new system benefits Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections. Applicants can submit forms online at ashirwad.punjab.gov.in. The portal enhances efficiency and ensures transparency.
Dr. Baljit Kaur highlighted that the platform is user-friendly. Applicants can easily upload required documents and complete the process without complications. The portal offers a fully contactless experience, eliminating physical visits. It also allows direct communication with beneficiaries. An application manager is available to assist users via email or phone.
The minister urged eligible individuals to take full advantage of this service. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting underprivileged communities.
Under the Ashirwad Scheme, the Punjab government provides ₹51,000 for the marriage of daughters from low-income families. To qualify, applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab and belong to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, or Economically Weaker Sections. The family’s annual income should be under ₹32,790. Each eligible family can receive aid for up to two daughters.
