Railway Board Simplifies Group D Job Requirements
The Railway Board has made a groundbreaking change to the eligibility criteria for Group D jobs. Now, an ITI diploma isn’t mandatory.
Previously, you needed to pass Class 10 and hold either a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or an ITI diploma to apply for technical roles.
On January 2, the Railway Board communicated this update to all railway zones. They’ve decided that for all future Level-1 recruitments, a simple Class 10 pass is enough. You can also qualify with an ITI diploma or an equivalent like the NAC from NCVT.
This adjustment opens doors for more people. Level-1 positions include roles like assistants, pointsmen, and track maintainers, which are vital to the railway’s operation.
We’re talking about filling around 32,000 positions in this recruitment drive. If you’re interested, mark your calendar. Applications open from January 23 to February 22.
This change means if you’ve completed 10th grade, you can now aim for a career with the Indian Railways without the previous hurdles. It’s a step towards making railway jobs accessible to a wider pool of candidates.
