Rakesh Roshan Reveals New Duo for Karan Arjun Remake
Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Karan Arjun is a Bollywood classic. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, the film hit theatres in 1995. Now, after 30 years, the action-drama is returning to cinemas.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Rakesh Roshan discussed the possibility of a modern reimagining. While ruling out a sequel or remake, he suggested Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor as the ideal duo for a contemporary version.
Why Hrithik and Ranbir?
Rakesh shared his thoughts: “I won’t remake Karan Arjun or make a sequel. But if I were to imagine a new pair, Hrithik would be Karan and Ranbir would be Arjun.”
Why Salman and Shah Rukh Were Cast
Reflecting on his original choices, Rakesh explained, “Salman’s physique was unique back then. His fit body and expressive eyes made him perfect for Karan, a character who speaks through his eyes.”
As for Shah Rukh, Rakesh had admired his work in King Uncle and Fauji. “I saw in him the perfect Arjun,” he added.
Hrithik Celebrates the Re-Release
Hrithik Roshan, who worked as an assistant director on the film, recently shared the news of its re-release on Instagram. “Cinema was never the same again,” he wrote, inviting fans to relive the magic of Karan Arjun from November 22, 2024.
The grand re-release promises a nostalgic journey for fans of the iconic film.
