Reliance Foundation Launches 5,100 Scholarships for 2024-25 Academic Year

Mumbai, August 14, 2024: Reliance Foundation has officially opened applications for its prestigious scholarship program for the 2024-25 academic year. Aimed at identifying and supporting 5,100 exceptional undergraduate and postgraduate students across India, this initiative represents a significant step toward nurturing excellence and empowering the nation’s future leaders.

Overview of the Scholarships

The Reliance Foundation Scholarships are designed to provide holistic support, helping students achieve their academic and professional goals. The program offers generous financial grants and mentorship opportunities, ensuring that talented students can pursue higher education without the burden of financial constraints.

Undergraduate Scholarships: Merit-Cum-Means Support

The Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships are targeted at first-year students enrolled in full-time, regular degree courses across India. A total of 5,000 scholarships will be awarded based on a merit-cum-means criterion. These scholarships aim to unlock the potential of young minds, enabling them to contribute to India’s socio-economic development. Recipients will receive up to Rs. 2 lakhs to cover their college education, alleviating financial pressures and allowing them to focus on their studies.

Postgraduate Scholarships: Excellence in Future-Ready Fields

In addition to undergraduate scholarships, the Reliance Foundation will also award 100 Postgraduate Scholarships to students enrolled in future-ready courses such as Engineering, Technology, Energy, and Life Sciences. These scholarships, valued at up to Rs. 6 lakhs, will be granted based on academic merit and aptitude. The program is designed to recognize and develop exceptional talent capable of contributing to India’s growth in critical sectors.

Reliance Foundation’s Commitment to Education

Education has always been a core focus for Reliance Foundation, from early childhood to quality higher education. In December 2022, on the 90th birth anniversary of Reliance’s Founder-Chairman Shri Dhirubhai Ambani, Mrs. Nita Ambani, Founder & Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, announced a commitment to awarding 50,000 scholarships over the next 10 years. This initiative makes it India’s largest private scholarship program. Since then, 5,100 scholarships have been awarded annually, with over 23,000 higher education scholarships granted to date.

Application Process and Deadline

The selection process for undergraduate scholarships will evaluate the student’s aptitude and economic background. For postgraduate scholarships, the process is more competitive, involving assessments of academic achievements, personal statements, and interviews.
