Salman Khan Demands Apology for Defamatory Report
Bollywood actor Salman Khan has issued a legal notice to news agency ANI and the advocates of two accused men. The notice follows a report claiming Khan has connections to underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s D-Company, which is known for terror and extortion activities.
False Allegations Spark Legal Action
The report, published on September 4, included an interview with Amit Mishra, the lawyer representing Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal. Both are accused in a case involving shots fired outside Khan’s residence in Bandra. Mishra alleged that D-Company had threatened his clients and that Khan had “known links” with the gang, possibly seeking to harm them.
Salman Khan Denies Allegations
Khan firmly denied the claims, calling them “false, baseless, and defamatory.” He said that both Mishra and ANI were attempting to damage his reputation and create controversy for attention. The legal notice emphasized that this amounts to defamation.
Demanding an Apology
Khan has demanded an unconditional apology from both ANI and Mishra. He wants the apology published in major newspapers within 48 hours and has requested that ANI remove the article from its platforms.
