Shah Rukh Khan Tops Celebrity Taxpayers List in 2024
According to a Fortune India report, Shah Rukh Khan became the highest taxpayer among Indian celebrities in 2024. He paid Rs 92 crore in taxes. Tamil superstar Vijay followed him, contributing Rs 80 crore. Salman Khan also made the list, paying Rs 75 crore in taxes.
Other Celebrities in the Taxpayer List
Many other stars from the entertainment world also featured in the list. Amitabh Bachchan paid Rs 71 crore, while Ajay Devgn paid Rs 42 crore. Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan contributed Rs 36 crore and Rs 28 crore, respectively. Kapil Sharma paid Rs 26 crore, Kareena Kapoor Rs 20 crore, and Shahid Kapoor Rs 14 crore.
Fortune India highlighted that Shah Rukh Khan led the list, followed closely by Vijay, who surpassed Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Virat Kohli to take the second spot in advance tax payments for FY24.
South Indian Stars and Bollywood Actors Contribute
From the South Indian film industry, Mohan Lal and Allu Arjun each paid Rs 14 crore in advance taxes. Kiara Advani contributed Rs 12 crore, while Katrina Kaif and Pankaj Tripathi paid Rs 11 crore each. Aamir Khan’s tax payment stood at Rs 10 crore for the fiscal year 2024.
Cricketers on the List
Among cricketers, MS Dhoni paid Rs 38 crore in taxes. Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly followed with Rs 28 crore and Rs 23 crore, respectively. Virat Kohli emerged as the highest taxpayer among cricketers, contributing Rs 66 crore in advance tax.

Shah Rukh Khan’s inclusion in the list of India’s richest individuals adds to his impressive achievements. According to the Hurun India Rich List, his wealth is estimated at Rs 7,300 crore. His production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, and IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders, play significant roles in building his fortune. Additionally, he remains a fixture on Forbes’ highest-paid actors list.
