Shiv Sena (UBT) Lauds Fadnavis’ Efforts in Gadchiroli
In a rare gesture, Shiv Sena (UBT) commended Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his work in Gadchiroli. The party referred to him as “Deva Bhau” and praised his New Year’s visit to the Naxal-hit district.
On New Year’s Day, 11 Naxalites, including eight women, surrendered at Gadchiroli’s police headquarters. Fadnavis attended the surrender and expressed hope that Naxalism would soon be eradicated.
“This area had no roads. Maoists controlled it completely. Now, we have built two posts and constructed a road and bridge connecting Chhattisgarh,” Fadnavis said.
The CM also inaugurated a 32-km-long road and launched bus services in the district.
Shiv Sena (UBT) Urges Fadnavis to Deliver on Promises
In its editorial, the Shiv Sena (UBT) said CM seems determined to bring change in Gadchiroli. The party added that he must translate his roadmap into reality to improve the lives of tribals.
The praise comes weeks after Uddhav Thackeray met Fadnavis in Nagpur. Relations between the two leaders soured after the BJP and Shiv Sena split in 2019.
Sanjay Raut later explained, “We praised Fadnavis because his government did a good job. Gadchiroli, a Naxal-affected area, saw Naxalites surrender and choose the constitutional path. We welcome that.”
Raut also criticized the previous minister, accusing him of worsening the Naxal situation by encouraging corruption. He added, “We’ve worked with Fadnavis before, but we remain in opposition and will continue raising issues.”
When asked about the praise, Fadnavis responded, “It’s good. Thank you.”
