Heroes don’t always wear capes—sometimes they operate bulldozers. Subhan Khan, a bulldozer driver from Haryana, became a real-life hero when he rescued nine people stranded on a bridge amid rising floods in Telangana’s Khammam district.

Nine people found themselves trapped on Prakash Nagar bridge over the Munneru river as the water level surged dangerously. Desperate, they recorded a video pleading for help from the state government. Although a helicopter was dispatched, poor weather conditions prevented the rescue.

With no official help in sight, Subhan Khan made the courageous decision to step in. Despite warnings from others not to go, Khan was undeterred. “If I die, it’s one life, but if I return, I will save nine,” he said before climbing into his bulldozer and heading toward the stranded group.

In a nerve-wracking journey, Khan maneuvered his bulldozer onto the flooded bridge and successfully rescued all nine people. As he returned with the group, they were met with loud cheers of relief and admiration.
In a video capturing the moment, a voice—believed to be that of Khan’s daughter—can be heard saying, “I am shivering, my daddy, he managed to do what he set out to.”

Subhan Khan’s bravery quickly made headlines, and he has since been inundated with calls of praise. Among those reaching out was top Opposition leader and former minister KT Rama Rao, known as KTR.

Rao went on to say, “When the government was considering how to get a helicopter for the rescue, you walked into danger and saved them all. Salute to your big heart and incredible grit!”
