Dilip Saikia Appointed New BJP President in Assam Dilip Saikia, the 51-year-old Lok Sabha member from Darrang Udalguri, has been appointed as the new president of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Assam unit. Saikia was the sole candidate to file his nomination for the state president's position by the Thursday evening deadline, solidifying his elevation to the top post.
