Celebrating Hakeem Abdul Hameed's Visionary Legacy Jamia Hamdard hosted the 3rd Hakeem Abdul Hameed Memorial Lecture on January 15, 2025, in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Unani Medicine and the Support Society. Scholars, academicians, and distinguished guests gathered to reflect on Hakeem Abdul Hameed’s monumental contributions to knowledge and holistic healthcare. Keynote Highlights Dr. Muhammad Raziul Islam Nadvi, President of Idara-e-Tahqeeq-o-Tasneef-e-Islami, delivered a compelling keynote address. He emphasized Hakeem Abdul Hameed’s pioneering efforts in integrating traditional Unani medicine with modern science and his commitment to education and healthcare. Dr. Yogita Munjal, Director (AYUSH), served as Chief Guest. She praised the enduring impact of institutions like Jamia Hamdard, established under Hakeem Abdul Hameed’s visionary leadership. Esteemed Dignitaries Share Insights Prominent speakers included: Prof. M. Afshar Alam, Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, who highlighted Hakeem Abdul Hameed’s global promotion of Unani medicine. Mr. Taj Hassan, Retired IPS Officer, who commended the integration of ethics into healthcare. Dr. S.M. Shuaib Zaidi, Surgical Oncologist, who underscored the balance of traditional and modern practices. Prof. Asim Ali Khan, Dean, SUMER, detailed Hakeem Abdul Hameed’s research contributions. Mr. Asif Azmi, Convenor of MAATI, highlighted the cultural impact of his initiatives. Special Recognitions and Releases Meritorious students were honored for their academic achievements, including: Miss Zoya Aslam, admitted to Lady Hardinge Medical College. Mr. Mohammad Salik, selected at Shri Krishna Government Medical College. Mr. Adil Akhtar, admitted to AFMC, Pune. Mr. Hassan Usmani, enrolled in B.Tech at Jamia Hamdard. A highlight of the event was the release of Nigarishat-e-Irfan by Mohammad Irfan Moradabadi. Acknowledging Excellence Support Society honored all dignitaries with mementos. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shamsheer Akhtar and the National Anthem.
