A young man from West Bengal, Sarfaraz, has recently passed the NEET 2024 exam with an impressive score of 677 out of 720. His journey wasn't easy; he faced significant financial challenges. Sarfaraz, at 21, not only studies but also works as a laborer. For the past two years, he has been carrying 400 bricks daily, starting work at 6 AM and finishing by 2 PM. Alakh highlighted the stark contrast in educational opportunities, noting how wealth can open doors while poverty can close them. He praised Sarfaraz's spirit, likening his struggle to a boxer fighting with one hand tied behind his back but still winning. Another video sharing Sarfaraz's story has garnered 5.3 million views and 504k likes. Family Support Sarfaraz's family lives in a modest home under the PM Awas Yojana. His mother shared a poignant memory of sitting with him all night to keep him warm when they had no roof over their heads. Setbacks and Resilience In 2022, an accident forced Sarfaraz to miss his NDA interview, a setback to his dream which started in 10th grade. Financial issues had already delayed his plans. Self-Education and Support During the lockdown, Sarfaraz used a phone he got with government aid to prepare for NEET via YouTube, including videos from Alakh Pandey. He later joined a discounted course from Physics Wallah, which was pivotal for his success. Achievement and Further Challenges Though he got into dental college, Sarfaraz had to leave due to no hostel and financial issues. Yet, he didn't give up. He cleared NEET 2024 and secured admission at Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College in Kolkata. A Helping Hand Moved by Sarfaraz's journey, Alakh Pandey gifted him a phone, loaned him Rs 5 lakh, and promised to pay his college fees. He emphasized that this loan should be paid forward by helping someone in need in the future.
