Punjab Language Department Announces Youth Literature Award The Punjab Language Department has invited writers to submit their Punjabi books for the Dr. Surjit Patar Youth Literature Award. This prestigious award honors young literary talent and promotes Punjabi literature. According to Jaswant Singh Zafar, Director of the Punjab Language Department, the award will be presented during Punjabi Month in November under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Award Benefits The winner of the Dr. Surjit Patar Youth Literature Award will receive: ₹1 lakh cash prize An honorary memento A shawl Other recognitions to celebrate their literary contribution Eligibility Criteria Books must be written in Punjabi. Only books published between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, are eligible. The award is open to students who have authored a book in Punjabi. Books can be in any literary genre. How to Apply Interested writers can submit their application along with four copies of their book.
