External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated that it was too early to determine the involvement of foreign conspiracies in the Bangladesh crisis. Responding to Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi’s inquiries during an all-party meeting on Tuesday, Jaishankar remarked, “It is too early to rule in or rule out anything, but a Pakistani diplomat did change his social media profile picture to support the agitation in Bangladesh.” Jaishankar briefed the MPs at the Parliament complex before issuing a statement on the ongoing crisis in the neighboring country. According to sources, the meeting revealed that there are around 20,000 Indian nationals in Bangladesh, and so far, 8,000 have returned. Jaishankar confirmed that the Indian government remains in touch with Indian nationals and that the High Commission continues to operate. The focus is on protecting minorities in Bangladesh, and the opposition expressed unanimous support for the government’s efforts.
