Shocking details have emerged about the sexual assault and murder of a 9-year-old girl in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Police investigations have uncovered that the victim’s 13-year-old brother committed the terrible act after viewing adult content on his mobile phone, subsequently strangling her.
The investigation revealed that the perpetrator’s mother and two older sisters helped conceal the dreadful incident that took place on April 24.
According to Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh, “A nine-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and fatally strangled in the Jawa police station area on April 24. The authorities opened a case and started an investigation. The victim’s body was found in the courtyard of her home where she had been sleeping.”
After rigorous questioning, the 13-year-old boy, his mother, and two elder sisters (aged 17 and 18) were arrested after admitting their involvement in hiding the crime.
During the interrogation, it was discovered that the boy had slept next to the victim and assaulted her after watching adult content on his phone. When she threatened to tell their father, he strangled her, as stated by the official.
The boy then informed his mother about the incident. Upon finding her daughter still alive, the boy strangled her again. The two sisters, who had woken up by then, rearranged the bed to mislead the investigation, Singh explained.

He added that the boy and his accused family members have been taken into custody, and legal action is in progress.
To mislead investigators, the family claimed a poisonous insect had bitten the girl. They even took her body to a private doctor, but when refused, they brought her to a government doctor who determined rape and murder as the cause of death.
Investigators found no signs of forced entry into the house, and the family denied hearing any unusual noises. “After collecting technical evidence and questioning 50 people, police noticed inconsistencies in the family members’ statements. Based on suspicion, they were thoroughly questioned, leading to their confession,” Singh was quoted as saying by PTI news agency.
