The vote count in Haryana has turned into a fierce contest, with the BJP overtaking Congress after the latter’s early lead. In Jammu and Kashmir, the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance is inching closer to the halfway mark.
Haryana’s 90 Assembly seats require a party to secure 46 seats for a majority. Congress briefly surpassed this number but has since fallen behind. The latest trends show the BJP leading with 46 seats, while Congress holds 38.
Om Prakash Chautala’s Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), once a dominant force, is leading in just one seat. The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), led by Dushyant Chautala, is ahead in two seats.
Meanwhile, in Jammu and Kashmir, the Congress-NC alliance is still striving to reach the majority mark as vote counting continues.
