
Two Soldiers Killed in Kishtwar Gunbattle, Reinforcements Sent
In a tragic encounter, two soldiers were killed, and two others were injured during a gunfight with terrorists in Chatroo village, Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday. The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army confirmed the casualties on the social media platform X.

Honoring the Fallen Soldiers
The White Knight Corps expressed their grief, sharing, “White Knight Corps and all ranks salute the supreme sacrifice of the #Bravehearts; offer deepest condolences to the families.” The fallen soldiers were identified as Naib Subedar Vipan Kumar and Sepoy Arvind Singh.

Injured Soldiers Receive Medical Attention
The injured soldiers were quickly transported to a hospital for treatment. Reinforcements have been deployed to the area to support the ongoing anti-terror operation.
Gunfight Sparked by Joint Security Operation
The encounter occurred when a joint team of the Army and police launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Naidgham area of Chatroo, based on a tip-off. At around 3:30 PM, the forces established contact with the terrorists, leading to a fierce firefight.
Ongoing Operations in Jammu & Kashmir
Earlier today, security forces neutralized two terrorists during an operation in Khandara, Kathua. The Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army confirmed the success, noting that operations are still ongoing.
These encounters come just days before eight Assembly segments in the Chenab Valley region and 16 seats in South Kashmir prepare to vote on September 18. The security situation remains tense as forces work to maintain order ahead of the elections.
