‘IITian Baba’ Expelled from Juna Akhara Amid Controversy
Abhey Singh, also known as ‘IITian Baba,’ has been expelled from the Juna Akhara at Prayagraj’s Maha Kumbh Mela. The former aerospace engineer from IIT Bombay allegedly used abusive language against his Guru, Mahant Someshwar Puri.
A member of the Juna Akhara denied any association with Singh, stating, “He was not a sadhu or a disciple. He defamed us and was thrown out.”

Responding to the accusations, Singh claimed he was not expelled. He accused the Akhara of spreading false rumors. “They fear my fame and think I might expose them,” he said. Singh, who has over three lakh Instagram followers, asserted that he left science for spirituality to explore life’s deeper meaning.

In a recent interview, Singh shared his traumatic childhood experiences, including witnessing domestic violence between his parents. He recalled feeling helpless and finding solace in studying late at night. He attributed his decision to remain unmarried to his past, saying, “Why face the same conflicts? It’s better to live peacefully alone.”
